Self portrait

Picture
So now that you have completed your Value Studies in class,  it is time to create a self portrait using these value techniques learned in class.

You will also be using a grid system for scale. You have practiced this 1/2" to 1" grid system with your tomatoes worksheet.

Directions for Self Portrait:

Using the provided photo of yourself you will create a 1/2" grid.
On the provided paper you will LIGHTLY draw a 1" grid (Remember you have to erase the grid for the final product).

You can then begin your sketch focusing on one square at a time, if it helps you take a couple extra pieces of paper to cover the squares that you are not using.

You will be Graded on:

Proper use of the grid system (Don't forget to erase all the lines of the grid in the final product)
A minuinum of 5 values
Correct proportion of the face
Craftsmanship
Effort

Extra Credit : Create a stylized Background of your choosing (paint, draw, collage)
